1977
Bernd Herrmann was among the few in the GDR to establish a radiator workshop. He initially operated it from his home on Lindenstrasse in Tätzschwitz. As the business grew, the workshop relocated in 1986 to its current site on Elsterstrasse. After reunification, Herrmann shifted focus to car and motorcycle repairs. From the 1990s to the mid-2000s, the company, operating as Kfz- und Kühlerwerkstatt Herrmann, partnered with manufacturers such as Daihatsu, Ford, and KTM.
1994
Bernd Herrmann chose to invest in AH-Autohof Hoyerswerda GmbH, a company established two years earlier. At that time, two of the four founding partners sought a new investor to help build the company’s facilities in the modern Nardt industrial estate. Under joint management by Waldemar Fobo, Bernd Herrmann, and Clauss Bräuer, the company expanded into the new millennium, employing a team of ten.
As the workshop in Tätzschwitz became too small—particularly after Bernd’s son, Alexander Herrmann, joined the business— Alexander invested in the establishment of Premio Reifen- und Autoservice, a subsidiary of Kfz- und Kühlerwerkstatt Herrmann GmbH, located on Grubenstrasse in Senftenberg. In 2006, Bernd Herrmann transferred management of the company to his son. Today, this branch of the Herrmann Lausitz Group operates successfully at the Senftenberg site with a team of ten employees, specializing in tire services and vehicle repairs.
2011
In May 2011, Alexander Herrmann and Stefanie Hofmann took over the long-established site on Spremberger Strasse 31 in Senftenberg—securing a location with nearly 30 years of history. Together with MAN, they made a clear commitment to preserving the site and began a systematic realignment: recruiting new specialists, modernizing facilities, and expanding capacity with an additional hall just one year later. A key milestone came in 2015 with the acquisition of the property, providing long-term planning security and enabling extensive structural improvements. Between 2018 and 2021, the site underwent comprehensive modernization: the repair area was doubled, a new test bench was installed, storage capacity was expanded, and state-of-the-art office and social facilities were created. Today, more than 20 highly qualified employees serve truck and bus customers in Senftenberg—competent, reliable, and future-oriented as part of the Herrmann Lausitz Group. Since 2016, a high-performance truck wash for vehicles over 3.5 tonnes and a dedicated diesel filling station for business customers have further enhanced the service portfolio.
2019
Towards the end of the first decade of the new millennium, the generational transition at AH-Autohof Hoyerswerda began. In February 2015, Waldemar Fobo retired, handing operational management to Stefanie Hofmann, while in December 2019, Alexander Herrmann took over for his father, Bernd. During this period, AH-Autohof Hoyerswerda GmbH further strengthened its market position by joining the Schmitz Cargobull network in 2014 and IVECO in 2016, gaining valuable expertise in van services and consolidating its role as a strong regional partner. Between 2019 and 2022, the site underwent significant expansion, including the installation of a modern test bench, additional repair and storage areas, as well as new break and office facilities. Today, with more than 20 employees, AH-Autohof Hoyerswerda continues to deliver reliable, high-quality service to fleet customers in the commercial vehicle sector as an integral part of the Herrmann Lausitz Group.
2024
In 2024, the Herrmann Lausitz Group expanded its presence to northern Lusatia with the opening of a new site at Kraftwerkstrasse 12 in Lübbenau. The location currently operates a high-capacity car wash for vehicles over 3.5 tonnes, while a modern workshop is under construction. Guided by entrepreneurial vision and a consistent focus on quality, we continue to shape mobility in the region... day after day.
